Nokia 8 spotted on official site

As the official launch of Nokia’s flagship smartphone – Nokia 8 is drawing nearer – more information about the soon-to-be-launched handset has started popping up online. While the smartphone has already been leaked numerous times in the past few weeks, this time it’s been spotted on Nokia’s own official website in China. An image of the webpage (which has since been taken down) showing the smartphone has been shared on Baidu as well.

The image shows a Blue-coloured handset’s front panel, complete with a Home button and capacitive navigation keys. The front-facing camera, speaker grille and sensors are visible on the top. It clearly shows the Nokia 8 from the front, corroborating with the press render image’s design that leaked earlier

Earlier this week, noted tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) tweeted an image of a Silver-coloured Nokia 8.

According to rumours, Nokia 8 will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The smartphone, which could be launched on July 31, recently made an appearance on Geekbench smartphone benchmarking website, revealing some of its key specifications. The benchmark listing suggests that the Nokia 8 will sport a 5.3-inch QHD screen. It could be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 835 processor, clubbed with 4GB/6GB RAM. The dual camera setup is expected to have two 13MP sensors.

As spotted by Winfuture website earlier, Nokia 8 has also been listed online by a Scandinavian retailer at a price tag of EUR 589, which roughly turns out to be Rs 43,600. The colours listed include Steel, Blue, Gold/Blue and Gold/Copper colour variants.

HMD Global recently launched two ultra-budget feature phones in India. These are the refreshed versions of the Nokia 105 and Nokia 130. The ‘new’ Nokia 105 costs Rs 999, while the ‘new’ Nokia 130 costs Rs 1,149. The former will be hitting the shelves first.
