The senate has a fortnight ago passed into law the bill that would allow graduands of the National Open University to participate in the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) and Law School.
NOUSAN President, Comr Nelson Nwaonicha who made the call on Sunday via a press statement made available to newsmen, said the new law has given life to the over 400,000 students of the university.
According to the NOUSAN President “NOUN has provided highly competent graduates ahead of other institutions in Africa, because of its unique mode of learning that focuses on extensive research and I.C.T based system, which is the current global efficient mode of education in latest paradigm shift in learning”.
He added that, “NOUN Students have won international competitions, and foreign Governments have shown various interest in our open education research programs over the years. This should show the massive awakening happening in Nigeria, in favour of Nigerian Youth”.
Nwaonicha commended the Nigerian Senate for passing into law the amended bill of the National Open University and thanked the NOUN management for it relentless fight in bringing the new bill into fruition.
